ASEPSIA PROTOCOL

Dental offices apply infection control protocols to address the many possibilities of cross-contamination and potential transmission of disease. Indeed, surgical interventions (dental implants, dental bridges, orthodontics, etc.) may involve certain risk factors for postoperative infection.

This is why in dentistry, aseptic procedures are mandatory to avoid contamination of patients and staff by pathogenic factors (bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites).
The Targa dental clinic has a separate instrument sterilization area as well as some facilities and spaces. We also follow safe and sterile surgical protocols that reduce the risk of infections and ensure optimal safety. We rely heavily on disinfectants to manage clinical contact surfaces that can be contaminated with bodily fluids during dental care.

This contamination, due to bacteria, microbes or other germs, can occur through contact with worn gloves or with droplets containing oral fluids.
We also rely on waterproof barriers to manage our sensitive equipment such as handpieces, scanners, digital X-ray sensors… to ensure our safety and that of our patients.

Here is an overview of the techniques used to prevent the spread of infections at Clinique Dentaire Targa:

  • Use of masks, gloves and protective glasses
  • Frequent hand washing
  • Disinfection of surfaces (counters, armchairs, electronic equipment, bins, floors, etc.).
  • Equipment cleaning which should always precede disinfection and sterilization
  • Sterilization of instruments to eliminate viruses and bacterial spores following traces of blood or saliva.
  • Load control after sterilization
  • Room ventilation
